VJC choir juz had our annual concert, SYMPHONY OF VOICES 2006 at the esplanade last tuesday... 16th may.. n i tell u.. WE RAWKED THE ESPLANADE!!! wahahaha..
let mi start from the very beginning of my day..
wells... we were suppose to report to sch as per normal at 7.30 and leave for rehearsal at 9.15.. but i decided to skip the 1st 2 periods coz it's CT n PW.. which is not as impt as 1 more hr of sleep before our big night.. lol.. so ya.. anyways.. the day didnt started very smoothly for me..
1. i woke up late
2.realize that i forgot to bring my makeup kit only after i'm halfway to the bus stop.. so had to run all the way back to get it..
3. nearly got knocked down TWICE at the PEDESTRIAN CROSSING when the GREEN MAN was on.. one was a SBS BUS.. the other a TAXI.. my goodness..since when has our public transport service became so LOUSY??

the rest of the day was pretty alright.. THANK GOD..=]

ookays.. proceeded to PT for rehearsal,, we practised our dance for the 3 songs in 2nd half: rock around the clock, sit down, you're rocking the boat and bridge over troubled water.. n coz i missed some of the previous practices.. i couldnt get some of the steps right!!! esp for rock ard the clock which is the couple dance.. for which i gotta stand right infront!! i was lik damn scared that i make some serious mistake or forget some steps on the actual performance.. =S so kinda kept going through the steps throughout the day till the actual sec we entered the stage for that song.haha..

we left for esplanade at 12.35.. had a couple of rounds of rehearsals with a full dress one.. n for the 1st time rehearsed our encore song.. Sin Sin Batu Manikam(shd be spelt lik that..) haha.. n onli then mr kwei told us we'll be singing Pamugun.. i was lik WAD??? lol.. though it's one of the competition songs we sang for the Riva del Garda Choir Competition in Italy..(in which we won grand prize n audience prize btw.. lol) but coz i didnt join them in italy n onli joined vj after 1st 3 mths.. i'm not veri familiar with the song!! wahaha.. plus it's veri fast n has lotsa weird pronounciations.. -.-.. but i juz gave it my best n WHACKED...wahaha.. when we had our full dress rehearsal.. the photography society pple were busy snapping photos of us..haha.. they even went right infront of their "prey" to snap their photos lo..hahaha..

from abt 5 till 6.45 we were given time to have dinner, get changed, makeup etc etc.. i tell u.. the packet of food they gave us for dinner was crap!! damn gross.. sigh..haha.. when we were having dinner at the pantry.. it brought back memories of the time CCHS had our 40th anniversary performance, Lake Odyssey, in esplanade last yr.. we had packed lunch/dinner( it was quite gross as well.. but better than this time..lol) there for several days (rehearsals plus 2 days of actual performance).. though we only sang 2 songs that time..(one was the sch song..-.-) but we all had a GREAT GREAT time preparing for it n making a fool of ourselves backstage while waiting for our turn.. lol.. great memories..xD

anyways.. back to SOV..hahaha.. started warm-ups at 6.45 n got ready backstage by abt 7.20.. at the place where we were waiting to enter the stage, there's' this small window with a curtain where we can see the whole concert hall..haha.. so we all took turns to peep out n see whether our frens n family haf arrived n seated..haha... right before we entered the stage, everyone gave each other hugs n wished each other good luck... suddenly i felt how bonded we actually were not juz as a choir but as a family..=DDD

so there it all began.. we started with 3 Latin Sacred Pieces.. den 2 English Songs, 3 Jap songs ending with 2 Grau's Works before the intermission.. the last 2 had actions together with the singing.. both ends beautifully with a damn damn damn grand ending..which never fails to impress the audience...haha.. =)) i was damn nervous when we started walking onto the stage singing alma redemptoris mater.. but after we've finish singing it n the audience gave a very encouraging round of applause.. i slowly got confortable singing on stage..=)) n started enjoying every bit of it..haha..

during the intermission, we were busy changing to our RETRO clothes for the 2nd half..haha..

after the intermission, the Victoria Chorale (our alumni choir) sang 3 songs.. i didnt manage to hear them but according to my frens.. they're damn good... projecting a volume equivalent to ours even though they haf less pple..

then it's our male n female chorus' turn to sing 2 chinese pop songs.. yue liang dai biao we de xin (david tao's version) for guys and jie tuo for gals.. we did another 2 songs before we showed everyone we're not juz gd at singing but dancing as well!! hahaha.. ahem.. okays.. anyways.. i started to panic a lil again coz it's time for ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK, the couple dance!! hah.. so i walked infront.. took my position.. n let the whole song with all the actions run through my mind once in forwarded speed before we began..haha.. n THANK GOODNESS.. i didnt make any mistakes(i think..)..haha.. neither did my partner, Nicholas..haha.. so ya.. we went on singing the last 2 songs.. plus the 2 encore songs... and the choir anthem with the Victoria Chorale pple..=DDD.. btw.. many many pple were impressed with pamugun!!haha.. coz if all the 'special effects'... =DD but my senoir pointed out that our articulation n everything were not as good as last yr's batch when they sang it during last yr's SOV.. of coz la.. we didnt practice it at all after italy trip.. so cant blame us rite? hehs...

in a blink of the eyes.. it was ALL OVER!!=(( everyone was damn hyped up after the whole performance.. we started cheering after we exited the stage..haha.. n i rushed off to meet my frens!! o6S39 peeps gave mi a bouquet of flowers!! n it's a sunflower bouquet!! wahaha..1 of my fav flower..xD n saw a lot of unexpected pple in the crowd after the whole performance!!haha.. like quite a number of mj pple whom i became frens with during 1st 3 mths in mj...=DD

thanks to all those who made an effort to come down to support us on tuesday.. simin, zhaoting, felix, zixuan,06S39 peeps, bee kwee n her fren, my uncle, my aunt, my mum's fren n her daughter, my seniors.. n a lot more!! haha.. hope u've had a wonderful and entertained night...
thanks to all the choir peeps who were so sweet to write good luck messages for us!! love you guys!!
to those who didnt come... it's alright.. juz dun miss it again next yr!! haha.. n we'll most prob gonna haf carolling at the end of the yr..=DD

oh ya.. forgot to mention this..haha.. my mum's fren brought his 7 yr old(i think) daughter along for my concert!! haha.. and they sat at the VIP box.. which juz nice faces mi most of the time..lol.. was kinda embarrassing.. but she kept on waving to mi!! xD.. n i couldnt help but to give her a tiny wave when we were exiting the stage after the 1st half's performance..=P

that's all for now i guess.. my brain is drained.. trying to remember all that details from 1 wk ago!! haha.. having bio spa tml.. wish mi luck!!
